If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain only one color, pink.

However if you stare at the black ' +' in the center, the moving dot turns to green...(concentrat e on the black ' + ' in the center of the picture. After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see only a single green dot rotating).

It's amazing how our brain interprets, There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear. (This should be proof enough that we don't always see what we think we see.)

Italian Mathematics...

A recent Italian immigrant comes to New York and wants a job. However, the foreman at the job site won't hire him until he passes a little math test.

'Here's your first question,' the foreman says. 'Without using numbers, represent the number 9.' 'Without numbers?' the Italian says, 'Dat is easy.' And he proceeds to draw three trees.

'What's this?' the boss asks. 'Ave you got no brain? Tree and tree and tree make nine,' says the Italian.

'Fair enough,' says the boss. 'Here's your second question. Use the same rules, but this time the number is 99.' The Italian stares into space for a while, then picks up the picture that he has ust drawn and makes a smudge on each tree. 'Ere you go.'

The boss scratches his head and says, 'How on earth do you get that to represent 99?' 'Each of da trees is dirty now. So, it's dirty tree, and dirty tree, and dirty tree. Dat is 99.'

'All right, last question. Same rules again, but represent the number 100.' The Italian man stares into space some more, then he picks up the picture again and makes a little mark at the base of each tree and says, 'Ere you go. One hundred.'

The boss looks at the attempt. 'You must be nuts if you think that represents a hundred!' The Italian leans forward and points to the marks at the base of each tree and says, 'A little dog came along and poop by each tree. So now you got dirty tree and a turd, dirty tree and a turd, and dirty tree and a turd, dat make one hundred.

Sri Vyas Puja

Here at Bhaktivedanta Ashram today is Sri Vyas Puja, the most auspicious appearance day of my spiritual master, the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. It is no accident that Srila Prabhupada appeared the day after Krishna's appearance day. It is a special arrangement of the Lord to see that His pure devotee, Srila Prabhupada, is especially honored in way that is befitting his position, which is good as that of the Supreme Lord Himself. Of course, it is not that the spiritual master is God. It is rather that he is to be honored as much as the Supreme Lord because he is the most confidential servitor of the Lord.

Sri Krishna Janmastami 08/24/08

Here at Bhaktivedanta Ashram today is Janmastami, the most auspicious appearance day of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna. What greater mercy could the Supreme Lord have upon us than to so kindly appear 5,000 years ago amongst us moving about on this planet with us in a form that is visible for all to see? And even though during His later pastimes here Krishna was quite elderly, by material standards having many grandchildren, still he always maintained the body of a 16-20 years old youth. This is God's potency. He is not subject to the restrictive laws of this material nature.

This is confirmed as follows in the Brahma-samhita:

advaitam acyutam anādim ananta-rūpam

ādyaṁ purāṇa-puruṣaṁ nava-yauvanaṁ ca

vedeṣu durlabham adurlabham ātma-bhaktau

govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi"

.

I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is inaccessible to the Vedas, but obtainable by pure unalloyed devotion of the soul, who is without a second, who is not subject to decay, is without a beginning, whose form is endless, who is the beginning, and the eternal puruṣa; yet He is a person possessing the beauty of blooming youth."

Question: Another Name for Krishna?

To a question by a devotee, the explanation you gave was that Christ is the son of Krishna and that Allah is another name of Krishna. This is a little odd. Why should Krishna be known with another name?With best regards,your humble sevak,Damodar B.

Answer: Unlimited Names

It is indeed odd that you find it odd for God to another name besides "Krishna." You are not thinking very deeply. If even an ordinary man of this world can have many names, why God can only have name? For example, an ordinary man of this world can be called by so many different names depending on whether he is addressed by his wife, his child, his friend, his parent, or his boss. Is it reasonable to think that a person of this world can exceed God in any way? No, it is not at all reasonable. Therefore since God is unlimited, He can have hundreds and millions names.Since Krishna is the Supreme Lord any name which refers to the Supreme Lord, even if it is from outside of the Vedic culture, can still be accepted as a name for Krishna.
